The Opportunity: 

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Development to support the growth and evolution of the organization’s philanthropic partnerships to further the organization’s broader strategic objective and impact goals. Reporting to the Chief Marketing, Communications, and Engagement Officer, this role will coordinate relationships with foundation and corporate funders; manage proposal development, reporting, and renewals; and ensure strong delivery against all funder commitments.

Working closely with colleagues across the organization and with leaders on the Board, the Senior Manager will help translate JUST Capital’s research and impact into clear, compelling narratives for funders. The role also supports key fundraising moments, including the flagship Best of American Business celebration, and contributes to impact measurement, relationship prospecting and stewardship, and data-driven relationship management through Salesforce and related tools.

Expectations & Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and grow relationships with foundation and corporate philanthropic partners, while supporting new engagement opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Own the development and management of funder proposals, reports, and renewals, with accountability for timelines, quality, and end-to-end stewardship.
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive strong execution against all funder agreements, exercising influence to ensure timely, high-quality delivery and funder satisfaction.
  • Help shape and steward the organization’s impact narrative, supporting theory of change, measurement, reporting, and funder-facing communications.
  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the organization’s flagship Best of American Business celebration.
  • Maintain rigorous funder data and pipeline management through Salesforce and related tools to support strategy, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Support and facilitate board engagement in development efforts, including preparation, coordination, and follow-up with funders as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Approximately 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong preference for candidates who bring a deep connection to JUST Capital’s mission and experience across the public, private, and/or social sectors.
  • Self-starter with existing knowledge and networks across the philanthropic funding landscape, as well as the ability to independently advance relationships while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing proposals, reports, and renewal strategies for foundation and corporate funders.
  • Proficiency synthesizing complex research and data into concise, compelling, funder-ready narratives; ability to adapt and customize messaging to funders’ areas of focus and strategic priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines, and collaborating with senior leaders and board members.
  • Fluency with AI and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with its widespread adoption.

Location: New York, NY – Four days a week in the office

Compensation: $105,000 to $115,000
